WITH GREAT DELICACY
Similar to the trademark Shadow Dancers Series, the Shadow Dancers Glass Series embodies the ritualistic mating dance of the cranes.
The added dimension of the translucent glass creates a new dynamic of delicacy and ingenuity. The positive and negative space engage in a poetic narrative giving the birds a new voice.

The Lost Wax Method
The original ceramic sculpture is covered in wax with a ceramic coating creating an "investment mold.” The wax then melts away, thus the technique "lost wax". The molten glass or bronze is poured into the leftover mold. Glass is melted slowly, with various temperature cooling called 'annealing.' The last step is removing the investment mold and cleaning the sculpture.
